The Expanse - Rocinante

This was a scene I was working on with a bit of spare time at home. I'm a huge fan of The Expanse, and I've always loved their set designs. I've always wanted to make something from the show. It's a series that's very grounded in real physics, and of course being a physical set, it actually has to function. If you haven't seen the show, please watch it, it's amazing :). I picked a small part of the Rocinante, as it's the main craft in the series, and has some interesting elements to it.

I wanted to try the Average Normal / World Space tiling method for something different, instead of trim stripping everything as I'd done in the past. While it's a simple scene, what I found challenging is doing a 'clean' ship. Almost everything you see in video games is scratched, battered and covered with bolts/panels. That definitely helps add character, but most of the ships in the show are quite clean.
